Authentic Chesapeake Bay Skipjack “HELEN VIRGINIA”

This classic Chesapeake Bay oyster dredge boat is one of the few original remaining survivors in the fleet.

Designed by Carol Bozman and built in 1948 by Gus Forbush, she is 43 feet long on deck with a 16-foot beam. Length overall is 65 feet. It draws 2’2” with the centerboard up. She is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This vessel is authentic in every way and is featured in numerous books and articles, paintings, countless photographs, and has been in several film documentaries.
